PAST NATIONAL PRESIDENTS
PRESIDENT'S SCRAPBOOK
Martha Washington was a devoted partner to General George Washington, supporting him through the tremendous demands of military leadership and public service.
During the Revolutionary War, she often traveled great distances to join him at winter encampments, including Valley Forge, where her presence provided comfort and encouragement - not only to her husband, but also to the soldiers and families enduring difficult conditions.

TRADITIONS
Her steadfast loyalty, sacrifice, and willingness to serve alongside him reflected her deep commitment to both her husband and the cause for which he fought.
The award bearing Martha Washington’s name, began in 2018 and is a fitting tribute to someone who demonstrates that same spirit of devotion and service. It recognizes an individual whose unwavering support of the military, its members, and their families reflects the dedication, compassion, and strength Martha Washington displayed while standing beside her husband during some of the most challenging years of his life.

In 2022, President Orfanello chose to bestow a member of the Order with the George Washington Spirit award. It has become an annual award ever since the 89th national convention.
