President Fran Holtgreven
Rise to the Challenge
Thank you for your vote of confidence for National President of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary for 2024-2025. I am excited and honored to start this chapter of my life to help this great organization grow and prosper and help our Veterans.
My theme this year is “Rise to the Challenge.” Rise to the Challenge means to confront and overcome difficult situations and obstacles with courage, determination, responsibility, availability and hard work. The following challenges, I feel, are crucial:
1. Helping our Veterans
2. General Fundraising for operating costs
3. Membership
4. Improve Communications and Publicity
5. Resolutions and Bylaws updated
6. Take time for ourselves and enjoy the coming year
A General Fundraising Committee has been added this year along with a Communication Committee. The General Fundraising Committee will be exploring ways to raise monies for operating costs to help support ourselves. The Communication Committee will be helping Departments and Units with ways to reach out to the local newspapers, television stations and social media to let them know what the MOPH Auxiliary is doing to help Veterans in their area. Let’s get our name out there and hopefully it will help us with Membership.
We will need to embrace changes, try new things, take risks and even step outside of our comfort zones. We will have setbacks, but we need to keep moving forward and focus on solutions not problems. Feedback from all Auxiliary members will give the organization ideas where improvement is needed and even where we are excelling.
Communication and collaboration between ALL Auxiliary members are needed to keep this organization growing and prosper and to help our Veterans. Make yourself available to accept a challenge, volunteer, attend meetings, become an officer of your Department, Unit or National, join a committee, notify the media of what the MOPH Auxiliary is providing to their community.
THE YEAR OF CHALLENGE!
